Republic Day 2025: Who will be the state guest on Republic Day? Who accepted PM Narendra Modi's invitation?

This time on the occasion of Republic Day, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will be the state guest of India. The Ministry of External Affairs has said that the President of Indonesia has accepted PM Narendra Modi's invitation to be the state guest on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day Parade (26 January 2025).

 

He will come to New Delhi on an official two-day visit to India on January 25-26. He will also have bilateral talks with PM Narendra Modi. During this, some important agreements are also likely to be signed between the two countries.

 

First visit of the President of Indonesia to India

 

Subianto has been elected as the new President of Indonesia in October 2024. This will be his first visit to India. The Ministry of External Affairs said that India has a very historical relationship with Indonesia. Both countries have also given the status of a comprehensive strategic partnership to the relationship.

 

A defense agreement will be signed between India and Indonesia.

 

Indonesia is an important partner in India's Act East policy and Indo-Pacific region policy. PM Modi will talk with Subianto on all aspects of bilateral relations, and regional and global issues. There is also a discussion that during this visit, some important agreements will be made between India and Indonesia in the defense sector. In particular, there is a possibility of agreement on the supply of the Brahmos missile system.

 

Recently high-level meetings have been held between India, Russia, and Indonesia in this regard. Brahmos missile is being manufactured in India with the technical help of Russia. It is being told that this agreement can be worth 450 million dollars. India and Russia have already sold this missile to the Philippines.
