Shabina Bano, who is pursuing her BA in Lucknow, believes that girls should be given the freedom to wear whatever they feel comfortable in.
She would say, "We challenge this decision that has been taken. We girls will wear them if they feel comfortable. But you can't target their clothes. Now people of Punjab wear turbans so you can also wear them. Will you target? The constitution gives us the right that you can wear anything, you can eat anything. We are following the culture of India. If we look at the culture of India, then the purdah system is everywhere. If you look at Hindu women, they are also following her. If you look at Muslims, they are also following the hijab. They do it with their pleasure and not under any pressure."
Samreen, a student of mass communication, says about this decision, "Our courts know what kind of rights we have got from the constitution. If they take away our rights then anyway we are stopped in everything in a patriarchal society. So if we wear niqab and hijab niqab we can go and make way for us then we don't think you should stop that. We have to read, we are being held back anyway. Everything for us Why does it start?
It has been so many years since the country got independence, why haven't you come up with the issue of hijab yet, then why have you raised the issue of hijab now? Bushra, who is trying to get a job after completing a BA, believes that whatever women wear depends on the wishes of the women.
She says, "We are proud of the Constitution. Under Article 21, which we have got as a fundamental right, we have every right, whether it is the right to dress. Whatever we wear depends on our will. Is.
"Very few people in Muslim homes get the opportunity to pursue higher education. When it comes to higher education, people stop or do not go. Especially where there is coed education. Due to this hijab, Permission is given that let's go to study. So we feel that what we have right to education is also being violated. And if we remove the Muslim community, then like Punjabis then they wear a turban, who are Hindus. They are Brahmins, they keep the top behind, those who are called Pandits, then we should object to them too."
