It is noteworthy that three coaches of Dadar-Puducherry Express derailed after colliding with Mumbai CSMT Gadag Express. No injuries have been reported so far in this incident. Railway Police Commissioner Kaiser Khalid said that only after getting information about the incident, did the police reach the spot and the passengers were immediately evacuated. Central Railway has released the helpline number. Presently both the trains Dadar Puducherry Express and CSMT-Gadag Express have been cancelled. The CPRO of Central Railway said, “Passengers can apply for a refund for trains canceled at any PRS center between the next three days.
Service will be normal till noon
A Central Railway official said today, “The work of re-ailment, OHE wire and track fitness of three coaches is in progress. This work is expected to be completed by noon today. During this period the fast line traffic will be diverted to the slow corridor between Byculla and Matunga stations. Central Railway CPRO Shivaji M Sutar said, “At around 9:45 pm, 3 coaches of Dadar-Puducherry Express were reported to have derailed near Matunga station; No casualties have been reported. Efforts are on to restore the fast line by morning. The cause of the incident is under investigation, it would not be appropriate to say anything now.
