After banning wheat exports in May, the government has decided to put in place a new approval framework for outbound shipments of wheat flour. Exporters of wheat flour will now require the approval of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for the shipment of flour. The new rules will be effective from July 12.
In a notification issued by DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade), it has been said that the export of wheat flour will be exempted but for this, the recommendation of the Inter-Ministerial Committee will be necessary. The provisions decided under the new approval framework will be applicable for the export of wheat flour, maida, semolina, whole flour, and other types of flour.
It has been said in the notification that necessary guidelines regarding the quality of wheat flour will be issued separately. In the notification issued by DGFT, it has been said that the new instructions will come into effect from July 12, and between July 6 and 12, only those consignments will be allowed to be exported, which have either been loaded on the ship or are customs. have been handed over. Apart from this, any consignments in between this period will be stopped.
