WHO chief says coronavirus outbreak 10 times deadlier than 2009 swine flu pandemic, urges countries to lift control measures gradually

जिनेवा: विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) ने सोमवार (स्थानीय समयानुसार) चेतावनी दी कि COVID-19, जिसकी उत्पत्ति पिछले साल चीन के वुहान में हुई थी, स्वाइन फ्लू से 10 गुना घातक है।

 

"कई देशों से साक्ष्य हमें इस वायरस के बारे में एक स्पष्ट तस्वीर दे रहे हैं, यह कैसे व्यवहार करता है, इसे कैसे रोकना है और इसका इलाज कैसे करना है। हम जानते हैं कि COVID-19 तेजी से फैलता है, और हम जानते हैं कि यह घातक है - की तुलना में 10 गुना घातक। 2009 फ्लू महामारी, "डब्लूएचओ के महानिदेशक टेड्रोस अदनोम घेबायियस ने कहा।

 

उन्होंने यह भी आग्रह किया कि नियंत्रण उपायों को "धीरे और नियंत्रण के साथ" उठाया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा, "यह सब एक बार में नहीं हो सकता है। नियंत्रण के उपाय केवल तभी उठाए जा सकते हैं जब सही सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य उपाय संपर्क में हों, जिसमें संपर्क ट्रेसिंग के लिए महत्वपूर्ण क्षमता शामिल हो," उन्होंने कहा।

 

डब्ल्यूएचओ के महानिदेशक ने जोर देकर कहा कि देशों को उन उपायों के बीच संतुलन बनाना चाहिए जो COVID-19 के कारण होने वाली मृत्यु दर को संबोधित करते हैं, और अत्यधिक स्वास्थ्य प्रणालियों के कारण अन्य बीमारियों के साथ-साथ सामाजिक-आर्थिक प्रभावों को भी प्रभावित करते हैं।

 

संयुक्त राष्ट्र के स्वास्थ्य प्रमुख ने कहा, "जैसा कि महामारी फैल गई है, इसका सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य और सामाजिक आर्थिक प्रभाव गहरा रहा है, और असुरक्षित रूप से कमजोर लोगों को प्रभावित किया है। कई आबादी पहले से ही नियमित, आवश्यक स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं तक पहुंच की कमी का अनुभव कर चुकी है।"
