Farmers on the Delhi borders stand against three new agricultural laws brought by the Center. Despite several rounds of negotiations and efforts, this demonstration is not over, but now the matter reached the country's largest court, the Supreme Court. On Thursday, the Supreme Court heard the case and termed the demonstration as the right of the farmers. The Supreme Court asked the central government to explore the possibilities of putting this law on hold. Know the 10 big things about the hearing in the Supreme Court:
1. The Supreme Court asked the Attorney General whether the government can give assurances to the court that the Center should not enforce the law until the court takes a hearing on the matter. The Supreme Court has also asked the Central Government to explore the possibilities of putting this law on hold.
2. The Supreme Court at present deferred the hearing in this case. The court said that it will give its verdict only after talking to the farmers. Today there was no decision in the court to form a committee due to the absence of any farmer organization.
3. The second bench will hear this matter further. Since the Supreme Court is on leave, now the case will be heard by the Vacation Bench. The Chief Justice said that notice should be sent to all the farmers' organizations that are protesting.
4. During the hearing, the Chief Justice said that farmers have the right to protest but how to do this can be discussed.
5. The Supreme Court said that we cannot cut the right of performance. The only thing we can notice is that it should not harm anyone's life.
6. The Supreme Court further said that we are considering the formation of a fair and independent panel of agricultural experts and farmer unions to resolve the deadlock on agricultural laws. This panel may consist of P. Sainath, Bharatiya Kisan Union, and other members.
7. The suggestions that this committee will give should be followed. Till then the demonstration can be continued but it should be non-violent.
8. The Chief Justice said that you cannot block the city nor incite violence in this way. The court said that we justify the right of farmers to protest, but the protest should be non-violent.
9. The CJI said that people of the city may have to starve due to the blockage of Delhi. The purpose of AAP farmers can also be fulfilled through dialogue. Just performing will do nothing.
10. Hearing the petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the three agricultural laws, the bench of the Supreme Court headed by the Chief Justice of India said that it will not decide the validity of the laws at present. The court said that if the farmers and the government hold talks then the purpose of the protest can be fulfilled and we want to arrange it.
