After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, India carried out Operation Sindoor and destroyed the hideouts of terrorists in Pakistan and PoK, and more than 100 terrorists were eliminated.
After India's action, Indian delegations are traveling to different countries to expose Pakistan and tell about Operation Sindoor. Meanwhile, the delegation led by Shashi Tharoor reached America, where he was questioned about naming it 'Operation Sindoor'.
Shashi Tharoor's answer
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said in America that Operation Sindoor is a brilliantly chosen name. During a dialogue session at the National Press Club in America, Tharoor said that the color of sindoor is not very different from the color of blood.
While presenting his views, Shashi Tharoor used the Hindi phrase 'khoon ka badla khoon' and said it was 'sindoor ka badla khoon'. It means blood in response to the treatment meted out to Sindoor by terrorists.
Why was the operation named 'Operation Sindoor'?
During the dialogue session, Tharoor was asked about Operation Sindoor's name. In response, he said that Operation Sindoor is a wonderfully chosen name. He explained to the Americans, "If some Americans do not know about it, it is a symbol, which is applied on the forehead of married women in Hindu tradition."
He said, "Sindoor is applied during the wedding ceremony, and then every day after that married women apply it. The terrorists had destroyed the sindoor of married women in Pahalgam by killing their husbands, so it is like 'Operation Sindoor ka badla khoon'."
What is 'Operation Sindoor'?
On 22 April, terrorists killed 26 people in Pahalgam, a tourist area of Jammu and Kashmir. This included 25 Indians and a Nepali citizen. After this, there was a lot of anger in the whole country and people were constantly appealing to the government to take revenge for this horrific massacre.
In response to the Pahalgam attack, India carried out Operation Sindoor on the night of 7 May in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) and more than 100 terrorists were eliminated by destroying 9 terrorist hideouts.
Many big terrorists were also killed in this action of India, in which terrorist Azhar Masood's brother also died. However, after this action of India, Pakistan tried to attack India with drones and missiles, but the Indian defense system foiled every attack of Pakistan.
