error reporting

hey everyone

I have a production server in which I want error reporting but only on some pages

I have
ini_set('display_errors', 1);
ini_set('log_errors', 1);
ini_set('error_log', 'error_log.txt');
ini_set('error_reporting', E_ALL ^ E_NOTICE);
error_reporting(E_ALL);

and what not at the start, but still I see no errors...

please help
