What is in Agneepath Scheme?
Under the 'Agneepath Recruitment Scheme', the youth will get an opportunity to join the army for four years. The age limit for recruitment has been fixed from 17 and a half years to 21 years. However, this year, two years of relaxation have been given to the youth in the age limit. That means youth up to 23 years of age will be able to participate in the recruitment to be held in 2022. At the end of four years, 75 percent of the soldiers will be relieved of duty. A maximum of 25 percent of the willing jawans will get a chance to serve in the army even further. This will happen when there are vacancies. The jawans who will be released from service will get preference in the Armed Forces and other government jobs.
Youth will be given six months of training
According to the new rule, the recruited youth will be given six months of training. For this 10th or 12th pass, students can apply. 10th pass jawans will also be made 12th during the service period. These youths will be called Agniveers. If any Agniveer dies during the service of the country, then an amount of more than one crore including the service fund will be given along with interest. Apart from this, the salary of the remaining job will also be given. If a soldier becomes disabled while on duty, then he will be given a salary of up to Rs 44 lakh and the salary of the remaining job. After four years of service, the youth will be given a service fund package, which will be Rs 11.71 lakh. The scheme will start after 90 days. This year 46 thousand Agniveers will be recruited.
What happened till now?
Violence has been reported from more than 60 districts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, and Himachal Pradesh regarding Agneepath scheme. . Two people have lost their lives. According to one figure, the loss of more than one thousand crores has been done so far due to arson and sabotage. Even today, the protesters have called for a Bharat Bandh. Due to this, there is a heavy traffic jams in many cities including Delhi NCR. On the other hand, the government has also made many big announcements in the interest of the youth.
1. Recruitment Age Limit of 23 Years: This year the age limit has been increased from 21 years to 23 years in the recruitments to be held under the Agneepath scheme. The government said that this would benefit the youths who had become overage.
2. Reservation in CAPF: The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced to give 10 percent reservation to Agniveers in the recruitment of Central Armed Forces.
3. Recruitment process started in the Army on July 1: Amidst the protests, the Army has announced the dates for the recruitment process of the three forces in the press conference. The Army has said that its recruitment process will start on July 1.
4. Process for the first batch in the Air Force from June 24: Air Marshal SK Jha said that the process of taking the first batch of Agniveers in the Indian Air Force will start from June 24. This is an online system. Under that, the registration will start. A month later, on July 24, Phase-I online examinations will start.
5. Navy will issue notification on June 25: Vice Admiral DK Tripathi of the Navy said that we have started the recruitment process. By June 25, our advertisement will reach the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The recruitment process will start within a month. Our first Agniveer will report at our training institute on 21st November.
6. Preference will also be given in many states: Agniveers will also get preference in police recruitment in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
7. Loan for self-employment: After the service of four years, the central government will also provide a loan to Agniveers for self-employment.
