In a major ruling on Friday, a US federal court canceled changes made to the H-1B visa rules of the Trump tenure. This decision of the court will give great relief to the students of many countries including India. This decision of the court will benefit Indian students looking for jobs in America. With this decision, it will be easier for fresh graduates to get jobs.

Let us tell you that under the changes made to H-1B visa rules during Trump's tenure, the selection process of students was changed from lottery draw to only high-paying jobs. After which protests started against it and this decision was challenged in the court.

Universities had opposed changes in Trump's rules

Apart from this, universities had also opposed the change in the rule. Universities have said that if the new rule is implemented, foreign students will likely be restricted from coming to the US. Not only this but the rule change was also challenged in court by the US Chamber of Commerce, due to which the federal court issued a stay order on the implementation of the rule.

The petitioners had given this argument

The petitioners had argued in the court that the new rules violate the Immigration and Nationality Act. It was also argued that the rule change would result in fewer students applying to US universities as their chances of getting a job upon completion of the course would be negligible.

Trump took steps to protect the jobs of American citizens

Let us tell you that to protect the jobs of American citizens, the Trump administration proposed a rule change by qualifying high-paying jobs for H-1B candidates. The US issues 65,000 new H-1B visas while another 20,000 are reserved for applicants with US Masters.
