The Union Government has given additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs to Tarun Bajaj, Secretary, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. Information in this regard has been issued by the Central Government.

The prices of petroleum products in the country are decided based on crude oil prices in the international market. In the last few days, the prices of crude oil in the global market have been seeing a decline. Due to this, the prices of petroleum products i.e. petrol and diesel in India also remain stable. There has been no change in their prices during the last three months. Petrol prices have not changed in any state except Maharashtra during this period.

Let us inform you that in May, the Central Government had given a big relief to the people in the prices of petrol and diesel by reducing the excise duty on the prices of oil. After that, in July, the new Eknath Shinde government of Maharashtra cut their prices by abolishing VAT on petrol and diesel.

According to the latest rates of India's petroleum oil marketing company Indian Oil, the price of one liter of petrol in the national Delhi on 22nd August without any change is Rs 96.72 while the price of one liter of diesel is Rs 89.62. Experts believe that if the price of crude oil in the international market remains below $100 per barrel, then petrol and diesel prices in the country will remain stable. These will not increase.

The oil prices in the metropolitan cities of the country are as follows-

City               Patrol Rs.per liter                Diesel Rs.per liter

Mumbai              106.31                               94.27

Kolkata               106.03                               94.24

Chennai              102.63                               94.24
