Pakistan team captain Babar Azam has undoubtedly been one of the best batsmen in the modern era along with the likes of Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson. Babar Azam, the captain of all formats of Pakistan, is currently the number one batsman in the ODI and T20 rankings, while in Test cricket he is at number four. Meanwhile, Babar Azam has broken a big record of Virat Kohli.

Babar Azam's name has now been recorded for the highest number of days in the history of T20 International cricket. Until recently, that record was recorded in the name of Virat Kohli. Babar has spent 1028 days as the number one batsman in the T20I format. He is followed by Virat Kohli of India and Kevin Pietersen of England; Kohli spent 1013 days, while Pietersen spent 729 days as the number one batsman.

Significantly, Babar Azam is also the number one batsman in the One Day International format. Babar is also the only batsman to feature in the top ten ICC rankings across all three formats of international cricket. Babar Azam got fourth place in Test cricket recently, because Kane Williamson is going through a bad phase. Babar Azam is now only behind Joe Root, Marnus Labuschagne, and Steve Smith.
