The Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting has started in Delhi to finalize the remaining candidates for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections and Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. The meeting is being held under the chairmanship of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge at the AICC headquarters in the national capital.
The meeting is being attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and senior leaders and Congress MPs Rahul Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi along with CEC members and screening committee members of the respective states.
Earlier on October 13, the Congress Party had held a Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting at the AICC (All India Congress Committee) headquarters in Delhi given the Madhya Pradesh, Telangana assembly elections. Before the CEC meeting, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi seemed confident that Congress would register victory in the upcoming assembly elections.
Rahul Gandhi claimed Congress's victory by tweeting on Twitter. He talked about the victory of Congress with huge votes in the upcoming assembly elections. Rahul Gandhi wrote in the tweet, "Mark my words, the Congress Party is going to win in Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Mizoram.
He further wrote in the tweet, "The Congress Party always works for the public. Rajasthan has the best healthcare policy, Karnataka provides incomparable social security, while Chhattisgarh supports entrepreneurs with strong policies. We in Madhya Pradesh will remove the corrupt BJP government and our 6 guarantees will ensure a massive victory in Telangana."
According to the Election Commission of India, voting for all 40 assembly seats in Mizoram will be held on November 7 along with the first phase of voting for 20 seats in Chhattisgarh. Voting for the remaining 70 seats of Chhattisgarh along with all 230 seats of Madhya Pradesh will be held on November 17. At the same time, voting for all 200 assembly seats of Rajasthan will be held on November 23, while voting for the 119-member Telangana Assembly will be held on November 30. Whereas the counting of votes for all the five states will take place on December 3.
