Despite accusing Sachin Pilot of complicity with the BJP, the Congress has still kept its doors open for him and other rebel MLAs and may be given another chance to return. Sources in the Congress have told ANI that the reason is due to Rahul Gandhi and he has asked for a soft approach towards the rebels. Rahul has instructed party leaders to give Pilot one more chance to return to the party.

According to a national Congress leader in Jaipur, the party's doors are still open for Sachin Pilot as Rahul Gandhi has directed that he should be given one more chance despite all the provocation. He has said that the pilot should be given one more chance to join the family.

Sources told ANI that Ahmed Patel, very close to the interim president of the Congress, Sonia Gandhi, is in touch with and talking to the former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan. It was previously believed that Rahul had taken a tough stand on the pilot's rebellion. However, as per the new updates, Rahul Gandhi is trying to create an atmosphere of respectable return of Sachin.

According to sources, Rahul Gandhi's directive came after a statement by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday afternoon, in which Gehlot directly accused Pilot of being involved in a conspiracy to topple the government with BJP. They have strong evidence of this. Soon after this statement, Rahul Gandhi instructed the national leaders present in Jaipur to give the pilot a chance to return. Following this, Randeep Surjewala, the national media in-charge, appealed through the media that Sachin Pilot should return to Jaipur along with all his MLAs. Rajasthan NSUI president who was close to Pilot and was also removed, but on Rahul Gandhi's instruction, he too has been given another chance.

The Congress had earlier called a two-member legislature party meeting in Jaipur, which was boycotted by the MLAs of the Sachin Pilot camp. Due to this, Pilot was removed from the post of Deputy Chief Minister and State President of Congress. Action was also taken against his supporters as well as the head of the State Youth Congress, the head of the Seva Dal, and the rebel MLA. A show-cause notice has been issued to 18 Congress MLAs along with Pilot for not attending the CLP meeting. Pilot is yet to return to Jaipur from New Delhi, but party sources believe he has softened.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is also in touch with the pilot. She has spoken to him several times and is pushing for him to return to Jaipur. Several senior party leaders, including former Union ministers Jitin Prasad, Priya Dutt, Shashi Tharoor, tweeted and said that talks with Pilot should be started. At the same time, support was also given by veteran Congress leader Margaret Alva, who tweeted that the differences are not anti-party. They have to be reconciled and compromised. After this tweet, former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh has supported.

Party sources said that if the pilots return home unconditionally and extend their support to the Gehlot government, they may be given some greater responsibility in the party after a few months. On the other hand, if Pilot is adamant, the Congress will not allow him to garner sympathy as he gave him many opportunities to return to the party. Sources said that the Congress is adopting a dual strategy.

Congress leaders have said that the rebel camp has a full chance to return home by the last date as long as the show-cause notice issued by the president is to be answered. While the Congress leadership is supporting Ashok Gehlot, he does not want to lose the pilot either. Due to Pilot's rebellion, the top leadership is facing criticism after Ashok Tanwar, Pradyut Manikya, Himanta Biswa Sarma and Jyotiraditya Scindia Congress are losing young leaders who were to become members of Rahul Gandhi's team.
