Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health said that the number of Covid cases in the country is declining in the last few days. The average number of cases per day in the last week is 2.04 lakh. Active cases stand at 15,33,000 in the country. The positivity rate was also registered last week at 12.98%. He further informed that 1,72,433 COVID cases have been registered in the last 24 hours. There are more than 50 thousand active cases in 8 states, 10-50 thousand active cases in 12 states. Kerala is the only state that has registered an increase in active cases.

Vaccination of 65% of the population aged 15-18

Luv Aggarwal said that about 167.88 crore vaccine doses have been made available so far. 96% of the population above 18 years of age has been covered since the first dose.
