Corona cases are declining rapidly in the country, but the danger is not over yet. According to WHO, a new XE variant of Omicron has arrived, which is 10 times more dangerous than BA.2. This means that it is going to spread 43% faster than Omicron's original variant. The XE variant is composed of two sublineages BA.1 and BA.2 of Omicron.

However, the WHO said that until no significant change is observed in the transmission of this variant, it will be treated as a variant of Omicron.

The first case was found in Britain

The first case of Omicron's XE variant was found in the UK on 19 January. Since then more than 600 cases of this variant have been found. Apart from this, this variant has also been found in France, Denmark, and Belgium.

According to the UK Health Protection Agency, there is not enough data yet to know how dangerous the XE variant is or whether the vaccine will work.
