His lawyer Mohammad Samimuddin said that the court has summoned a report in this regard by June 4. Samimuddin said, there is no proper sanitation inside the Alipur Women's Correctional Home. What did Sharmistha Panoli's lawyer say
He said we are trying our best to get our client (Sharmishtha Panoli) released from jail before June 13. Today we will discuss the matter in detail and decide in the next one or two days what steps to take next. The lawyer said she is not being taken care of properly in the Alipur Women's Correctional Home. Cleanliness is not being taken care of around her there at all. Her health is not good, she has a kidney stone problem. Despite this, she is not getting proper treatment or rest.
Samimuddin said, she is not even being given essential things like newspapers, magazines, which are her basic rights. That's why we have filed a petition in the court today, so that she can get these facilities. We clearly say that Sharmistha is innocent. She had no intention to hurt anyone's religious sentiments. We are trying our best to get bail and justice.

Legal process followed in arrest: Kolkata Police
Earlier, Kolkata Police categorically rejected the criticism of illegal arrest of Panoli. Police said that the matter was properly investigated and legal procedures were followed in this regard. Influencer's arrest is state-sponsored repression: BJP.
On the other hand, BJP attacked the Trinamool Congress government of West Bengal over the arrest of Panoli. The opposition party in the state termed this action as state-sponsored repression. BJP said that this action is a violation of the right to freedom of expression. Party spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia also targeted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on this issue and called her ruthless.
Condemning the arrest of Panoli, Bhatia said in a post, shameful. Mamata Banerjee's police traveled 1,500 km from Kolkata to arrest law student Sharmistha Panoli just because she had expressed her opinion, for which the student had publicly apologized. But the same police did not arrest the accused in Sandeshkhali until the High Court reprimanded them.
