The series of intermittent rains that started in Delhi-NCR yesterday afternoon is continuing. The rain that started after 10 p.m. last night is still continuing. It is raining heavily in NCR. This has reduced the heat and humidity for two days. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain for the next five days.

 

It rained intermittently throughout the night in Delhi-NCR. Due to continuous rain, water has accumulated on most roads' sides. Due to this, there is a possibility of a traffic jam on the roads as soon as the day breaks.

There has been news of heavy rain in Jorbagh, Minto Road, and Connaught Place areas since this morning. It is also raining in Noida and the surrounding areas.

According to the Meteorological Department, 15 mm of rain was recorded at Safdarjung Standard Center in Delhi till 5:30 pm. During this period, the maximum temperature was recorded 1.7 degrees Celsius below normal at 32.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded 1.3 degrees Celsius below normal at 25.8 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has also predicted rain for Thursday. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 33 to 35 till August 5.

AAP's protest against waterlogging

 

AAP protested outside the Mayor's office in Civic Center on Wednesday in protest against the waterlogging during the rain in the capital. During this, AAP councillors surrounded the MCD while raising slogans against the BJP. They said that the condition of flooding of roads and waterlogging in the streets is the result of MCD's negligence.

 

The councillors said that every year, MCD makes big claims of cleaning the drains before the monsoon, but the ground reality is just the opposite. They demanded that Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh immediately start relief work in the areas affected by waterlogging and get the drainage system cleaned. At the same time, Leader of Opposition in MCD Ankush Narang has written a letter to the Mayor drawing attention to the condition of waterlogging and has demanded immediate action for the solution.
