According to sources, a group of individuals attacked the candidate when he went to inspect the polling booth. Meanwhile, in Ramchandrapur (Booth Number 147) of Hooghly district, a clash broke out between TMC and ISF supporters. The altercation reportedly escalated due to rising tensions over allegations regarding the deployment of fake polling agents.
Tensions Escalate in the Area
During the incident, the candidate’s vehicle was vandalized. There were also attempts to snatch weapons from his security personnel. It is alleged that, despite the presence of Central Forces, the security personnel did not intervene to control the situation or assist in the rescue efforts.
