In Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, a case of an innocent eight-year-old girl student being expelled from the examination has come to light due to non-payment of fees on time. This case pertains to a renowned school in Mumbai. After the matter came to light, a case has been registered against Scoon management.
Mumbai Police on Saturday said an FIR has been registered against the principal and a class teacher of a prominent school in the Dadar area for not giving a unit test to an eight-year-old girl for non-payment of school fees. He said that the father of the Class II student had complained to the police on Friday. He said the child was not allowed to appear in the unit test conducted on Wednesday.
Citing the father's complaint, a Mumbai Police official said the girl was made to sit apart from other students in the class to humiliate her. The police have registered an FIR under section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
This section provides for punishment if a person keeps, assaults, abandons, ill-treats, or willfully neglects a child under his control. The investigation into the matter is currently underway and no arrests have been made, the official said. The respective schools have produced many cricketers who have played at the international level.
