Agra, March 10 (IANS) An activist who works against acid attacks was quizzed by police and his laptop and pen drive were seized after he showed a group of villagers the controversial BBC documentary on the December 16, 2012 gang rape.

Police quizzed activist Ketan Dixit for several hours at the Burhan police station near Agra on Monday evening, for defying the government ban on the documentary "India's Daughter", police said on Tuesday.

Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Tripathi said they were studying the matter and waiting for instructions from the headquarters.

Police officials had indicated on Monday that Dixit would be booked soon.

Dixit told IANS he was still free "but waiting for police action which could come any time".

Police said the laptop and a bed-sheet that was used as a makeshift screen were seized and sent for forensic examination.

Dixit had organised a public show of the documentary in Roop Dham village in Etmadpur region on Sunday. More than 70 people, including women, watched the documentary.

Dixit told IANS his act was part of a plan to show good, sensitive films in rural areas, and he would continue to show such films in schools and villages.
