Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who was again embroiled in controversies after saying the word 'national wife', said that he would apologize to the President only. Will not apologize to these hypocrites. Adhir Ranjan said in his clarification that the mistake was made due to knowing less Hindi.

 

During the proceedings of the monsoon session on Thursday, the ruckus escalated when Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury used the word 'national wife' for President Draupadi Murmu. After his statement, a ruckus broke out in both houses. The ruling party MPs demanded an apology from Adhir Ranjan. BJP MP Smriti Irani dragged the name of Sonia Gandhi and demanded an apology from her too. The proceedings of the House had to be adjourned amid much uproar.

I will not apologize to hypocrites

 

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury sought fault for his statement in Parliament and said that he cannot use wrong words for the President even in dreams. However, he said that he would personally meet the President and apologize. Attacking the BJP, he said that he will not apologize to the hypocrites. He said that he had made such a mistake due to his low knowledge of Hindi.

 

Don't drag the name of Sonia Gandhi

 

After Sonia Gandhi's name surfaced in this episode, Adhir Ranjan appealed to the BJP not to drag Sonia Gandhi's name in this whole matter. This human error has happened to them. It is not Sonia Gandhi's fault for this.
