Air Pollution: On the plea of the UP government, the CJI said- So you want to shut down the industry in Pakistan

Hearing on air pollution case was held in Supreme Court today. The UP government today told the Supreme Court that sugarcane and milk industries in the state may be affected due to the closure of industries. The government said that if we look at the air pressure, then UP is down. Here the wind is mostly coming from Pakistan. On this argument of the UP government, Chief Justice NV Ramana quipped that you want to ban industries in Pakistan. At the same time, in the pollution case, the Center told the Supreme Court that a five-member enforcement task force has been constituted.

 

Construction work of hospitals will continue in Delhi

 

During the hearing on the issue of air pollution in Delhi-NCR, the Supreme Court has allowed the Delhi government to continue the construction activities of hospitals. The next date of hearing in the matter will be on December 10. Earlier, the Delhi government had filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court urging it to allow construction activities of hospitals in the national capital. The Delhi government said that to prepare for and combat the third wave of Covid-19, the work of improving the infrastructure of the hospitals had been started and the construction of 7 new hospitals was started, but due to the construction restrictions. Because work has stopped.

 

The next hearing will be on December 10

 

The Chief Justice said that we have studied the affidavits of the Center and NCT. We have taken into account the proposed instructions. We direct Delhi and the Center to implement the orders of 2nd December. We keep the matter pending and will hear it the next Friday i.e. 10th December.

 

The central government constituted a task force to deal with pollution

 

The Central Government has constituted a task force regarding the ongoing air pollution in Delhi-NCR. The Central Government has given information about this by filing an affidavit in the Supreme Court. During the hearing in the Supreme Court on Friday, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told that the Enforcement Task Force and Flying Squad have been constituted by the government to deal with pollution. This task force consists of five members and has been given legislative powers. The task force also has provoking and preventive legislative powers.

 

Let us inform you that the Center has constituted the Enforcement Task Force and Flying Squad. The task force will consist of 5 members, who have legislative powers. Apart from this, powers have also been given to punish the group. The central government said that the number of flying squads would be increased to 40 in the next 24 hours. The enforcement task force will be headed by MM Kutty and CPCB chairman Tanmay Kumar will be its member.

 

Let us tell you that on Thursday itself, the court had asked the Center to take any concrete steps within 24 hours, otherwise instructions will be issued from our side. Apart from this, the matter of formation of the task force had also been said by the Supreme Court.

 

Schools closed in Delhi

 

After being reprimanded by the Supreme Court, the Delhi government decided to close the school on Friday. However, board exams and online classes will continue during this period. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that we had reopened the schools due to the forecast of improvement in air quality, but the air pollution has increased again and we have decided to close the schools from Friday till further orders.
