
5G Service in India: Airtel has started its 5G service in a hill city in India. Now people in another new city will be able to use 5G service. Airtel has started its 5G service in Shimla today (19 December 2022). Airtel's 5G service in the hill city of Shimla is currently launched in Mall Road, Sanjoli, Dhali, Bhatta Kufar, Ridge, and Sanjoli helipad areas, and a few other select locations. With the release of its service in Shimla, Airtel said that it is preparing to launch its services in the entire city in the coming times.

Pushpinder Singh Gujral, the CEO, of Upper North, said that Airtel customers will now be able to experience ultrafast networks and enjoy speeds that are 20-30 times faster than the existing 4G speeds. We look forward to lighting up the entire city, allowing customers to enjoy superfast access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, instant photo uploading, and much more."
Airtel launched its 5G service in Patna last month. Now Airtel has launched 5G services in a total of 14 cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur, Varanasi, Panipat, Gurugram, Guwahati, Patna, Shimla, and Lucknow. Airtel has said that users will not need to change the SIM to use the 5G service as the existing Airtel 4G SIM is sufficient for 5G.
Jio's 5G service is available in these cities
Jio has so far launched its service in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Varanasi, Nathdwara in Rajasthan, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gujarat, and Kolkata. Jio has said that you do not need to buy a separate SIM to use 5G. Your existing 4G sim will support 5G as well. For this, you just need to have a 5 G-supported smartphone and an active plan of Rs 239 or more.
