'My sister's vermilion was ruined...', said Anupam Kher on casting Hania Aamir in Diljit Dosanjh's Sardar Ji 3

Anupam Kher, who has made a place in the hearts of the audience with his acting for the last several decades, is now returning to his old form after a long time. After Om Jai Jagdish and I Went Shopping for Robert De Niro, he is now taking charge of directing another film. His film 'Tanvi the Great' will hit the theatres this week.

Along with his films, Anupam Kher openly expresses his opinion on any issue, whether the issue is about the country or Bollywood. Anupam Kher has given his opinion on the controversy that has been going on for a long time regarding casting Hania Aamir in Diljit Dosanjh's Punjabi film 'Sardarji-3'.

They should not do this in the name of an artist.

During the promotion of 'Tanvi the Great', Anupam Kher expressed his views on the presence of a Pakistani actress in 'Sardarji' and said, Diljit Dosanjh can make full use of his freedom and expression, but he should not do this in the name of an artist, especially when it comes to Pakistan. The actor said,

This is their fundamental right, and they have complete freedom to use it. My point of view is that if I were in their place, I would not have done this. "I want to tell you as an example that suppose someone slaps my father, but he sings very well, plays tabla very well, so he comes to my house and performs, I will not allow this. I am not such a great man. I will not slap him, but I will not give him any rights either. The rules that are in my house are the same as those for my country as well. I am not so great that I can see someone killing my family and ruining my sister's vermilion, those who can do it, they are free".

How did this whole controversy on Sardar Ji 3 start?

When a situation of tension arose between India and Pakistan under Operation Sindoor on May 7, the government took many big decisions. Pakistani artists were already banned in India, but their social media accounts were also disabled in India. However, in the meantime, when the trailer of Sardar Ji 3 came and people saw Hania Aamir in Diljit's movie, they could not control their anger.

From FWICE to many singers criticized Diljit Dosanjh and asked to remove him from the patriotic film 'Border 2'. If we talk about Anupam Kher's film 'Tanvi the Great', then this movie is the story of an autistic girl. The movie will be released across the country on 18 July 2025.
