At the age of 37, Ajinkya Naik was made the President of the Mumbai Cricket Association. In the election, the current secretary Ajinkya Naik defeated Sanjay Naik.

 

Ajinkya got 221 votes while the opposing candidate Sanjay Naik got 114 votes. Ajinkya thus won by a one-sided 107 votes. Ajinkya was working as the secretary of Amole Kale, but his position was vacant after Amol's sudden death due to cardiac arrest last month.

Ajinkya Naik became the youngest president of MCA.

 

Ajinkya has been associated with the Mumbai Cricket Association for the last two years and works as a secretary. Ajinkya was very close to Amol Kale and now after his death, Ajinkya has got the responsibility of taking over his post. After becoming the President of MCA, Ajinkya said that this victory was of Mumbai ground and the club secretary. I have been a part of many committees for a long time and my journey is like a pyramid. The result was exactly as I had thought.

 

Ajinkya said during this time that he would approach corporate houses for maximum jobs for cricketers. A solution has to be found to the problem of lack of job facilities in the city.

 

Ajinkya Naik said that he contested for this post without any political or leader's support and he said that some people behind the scenes helped me become the youngest president of MCA.
