If you live in Uttar Pradesh or Bihar, then pollution is spoiling your health and burning your pocket too much. According to research published in the research journal Lancet, the loss to GDP due to pollution varies from state to state. For example, in the states with low per capita GDP, Uttar Pradesh (2.15 percent of GDP), Bihar (1.95 percent), Rajasthan (1.70 percent), Madhya Pradesh (1.70 percent), and Chhattisgarh (1.55 percent) the state's GDP is suffering more.

States with higher per capita GDP have suffered less. Like 1.52 percent to Punjab and 1.50 percent to Uttarakhand. This loss to the GDP of the states is between .67 to 2.15 percent. On the other hand, Delhi ($62) and Haryana ($53.8) have higher economic losses per capita. , This study has been done by the Indian State-Level Disease Burden Initiative.

Air pollution in the country kills 16.7 lakh people every year and causes a loss of about Rs 2.6 lakh crore (1.4 percent of GDP) to the economy. That is, air pollution is taking a toll on both life and pocket.

Pollution became the problem of the whole country

According to Vivek Chattopadhyay of the Center for Science and Environment, pollution affects your productivity because if you are not healthy then you will not be able to do better in the workplace. Vivek says that if the government can take the right steps to reduce air pollution and control it, then the loss to GDP can be greatly reduced.

According to Chandra Bhushan, a climate change expert and CEO of the International Forum for Environment Sustainable and Technology, Delhi has a lot of pollution. Especially in winters but pollution is the problem of the whole country. There is also a lot of pollution in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. On the other hand, Lucknow, Agra, Patna, and most of the cities in the Gangetic plains are facing the problem of pollution. Even in the village, this is a problem. That's why it should now be about all these places and not just Delhi and cities.

So many diseases caused due to air pollution

According to data from the National Health Account data, healthcare spending in India in 2019 stood at about $103.7 billion. In this, diseases caused by air pollution accounted for about 11.5 percent of the diseases caused to the people. The expenditure on these was about $ 11.9 billion. According to a report published in the Medical General Lancet, in 2019, about one crore six million people lost their lives due to air pollution.

97 percent of the population in the grip

Like every developing country, due to increasing pollution in India, many types of dangers are increasing. In 2017, 97 percent of the country's population was in the grip of pollution (PM 2.5).

indoor pollution is reduced

Indoor pollution has been reduced. The report says that between 1990 and 2019, indoor pollution has decreased by 64 percent, but outdoor pollution has increased by 115 percent.

here are the solutions

According to experts, if pollution is to be reduced, then coal plants in the fuel sector will have to be reduced and renewable energy sources (wind and solar energy) will have to be promoted. At the same time, while making changes in transportation, battery-operated vehicles will have to be promoted. At the same time, tillage cultivation will have to be encouraged in the agriculture sector so that there is no need to burn the stubble.
