Criteria for evaluation of students of recognized school boards

ETS, which conducts major tests like TOEFL and GRE, has been selected by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to set up the regulatory platform. Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARK - Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development) will work on setting norms, standards and guidelines for assessment of students of all recognized school boards in the country .

three major areas

The objective of Parakh is to improve the quality, standard and value system of school education. PARAKH will be an independent organization affiliated to the Ministry of Education which will conduct large scale assessment in three key areas – National Achievement Survey, School Based Assessment and thirdly Capacity Building. Sevak said that our first step is to develop some standard and standardized guidelines for evaluation.

Continuously new ways to assess students

This includes summative testing and frequent new methods of assessing students. Emphasizing on the diversity in school education in India due to geographical differences and multiple languages, Sevak said Parakh will bring uniformity in assessment across 62 boards across 36 states and union territories. He informed that we are currently in the process of establishing a blueprint for the assay, in other words, a preliminary outline. We will discuss about its organizational forms and roles.
