Drugs Case: Aryan Khan, son of Shahrukh Khan, arrested in the cruise drugs case, will have to remain in jail till October 20. Today the Sessions Court reserved the decision after a long hearing on the bail application. The NCB had detained Aryan Khan and other accused on October 2 and arrested them after interrogation. Aryan is currently in Arthur Road Jail.
During the hearing, Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, appearing for NCB, said that in the preliminary investigation, international links of the accused have come to the fore. All are connected. You cannot see them separately. We have WhatsApp chats and other evidence.
Anil Singh said that the statement received about Aryan Khan shows that he used to consume it for the last few years. Drugs have been found from Arbaaz. Aryan was with him. It is also clearly written in the Panchnama that both were about to consume drugs. Anil Singh read out the judgments of at least eight cases during the hearing on the bail plea. The ASG tried to explain how these accused should not be granted bail.
On the other hand, senior advocate Amit Desai, appearing for Aryan Khan, termed the NCB's argument as "absurd" and said that when no drugs were found from him, he should not be punished at the level of getting bail. Desai told the court that the accused in the present case are young adults and are not drug dealers, smugglers, or gang members.
The court has also heard the bail applications of Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Satija, Akshit Kumar, Mohak Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, and Avin Sahu. Since October 2, 20 people have been arrested in this case.
