Asian Games 2023: Tilak Varma played the best innings of his T20I career, and broke Rohit Sharma's record.

Indian team's young batsman Tilak Verma played a match-winning innings in the semi-final match against Bangladesh in the ongoing Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China on Friday. With this innings, Tilak Verma has registered a special record in his name.

 

Tilak Verma scored an unbeaten 55 runs against Bangladesh with the help of two fours and six sixes in just 26 balls. His strike rate was 211.53. This was the best score of Tilak Verma's T20 International career.

Thanks to the brilliant innings of Tilak Verma, the Indian team defeated Bangladesh by 9 wickets with 64 balls remaining in the semi-final match on Friday. Bangladesh batted first and scored 96 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, India achieved the target by losing one wicket in 9.2 overs. Tilak Verma made an unbeaten partnership of 97 runs with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad for the second wicket.
