Australian captain Pat Cummins said that he was lucky to be in front to watch Glenn Maxwell's miraculous innings against Afghanistan. Glenn Maxwell played one of the greatest innings of ODI cricket at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

 

The Australian batsman scored an unbeaten 201 runs with the help of 21 fours and 10 sixes in 128 balls against Afghanistan in the 39th match of the World Cup 2023 on Tuesday. Maxwell rescued Australia from the position of 91/7 and successfully chased the target of 292 runs.

Glenn Maxwell also got the support of luck. When he was playing on 27 runs, the decision of LBW was changed. Then Afghanistan's Mujeeb Ur Rahman dropped his catch. Then Maxwell was playing on 33 runs. From here Maxwell played with full concentration and completely dominated the Afghanistan bowlers.

 

Australian captain Pat Cummins made a record unbeaten partnership of 202 runs for the eighth wicket with Glenn Maxwell. Cummins scored unbeaten 12 runs in 68 balls with the help of one four and he continued to enjoy Maxwell's stormy innings from the other end.

 

Maxwell struggling with pain

Glenn Maxwell looked troubled by the heat of Mumbai. His muscles became stiff. Maxwell needed several breaks because he had to get help from the physio. However, Maxwell did not give up despite suffering pain and played one of the memorable innings of ODI cricket. Maxwell died after leading Australia to victory.

 

Australia qualified

The Australian team has qualified for the semi-finals. The Kangaroo team has 12 points and has become the third team to qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup 2023. Australia will now play its last league match against Bangladesh in Pune on 11 October.
