The decision to cancel the exam was taken after receiving indications of irregularities from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analysis Unit of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The controversy over the Medical Entrance Examination (NEET) result has not yet cooled down and the Ministry of Education has announced the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam as well. The Ministry of Education said that the UGC-NET exam will be conducted afresh. According to the government, the investigation of the matter of irregularities in the examination is being handed over to the CBI.

On June 19, i.e. today, UGC received some inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analysis Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs for the examination. A fresh examination will be conducted. For which information will be shared separately.
