Even after the political upheaval and coup in Bangladesh, violent protests in the country have not calmed down. Various pictures of violence are coming from different parts of the country.
The protesters are targeting national monuments. The statues present at the 1971 Shaheed Memorial site in Mujibnagar have been vandalized. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has expressed concern over this incident and has urged the interim government of Bangladesh to maintain law and order.
'It is sad to see such pictures of destruction by miscreants'
Shashi Tharoor said in his social media post, 'It is sad to see such pictures of the destruction of statues located in the Shaheed Memorial Complex in Mujibnagar in 1971 by anti-India miscreants. This incident has happened after the humiliating attacks on Indian cultural centers, temples, and Hindu houses at many places, while there have also been reports that Muslim citizens are protecting other minority houses and places of worship.'
'Such anarchy can never be forgiven'
Shashi Tharoor further said that the agenda of some agitators is very clear. Mohammad Yunus and his interim government must take immediate steps to restore law and order in the interest of all Bangladeshis and people of every religion. India stands with the people of Bangladesh in this tumultuous time, but such anarchy can never be forgiven.
