The wait for the online store of Apple India in India ended at midnight on Tuesday and since that time the store has been getting tremendous support from the domestic customers. A large number of customers who wanted to buy Apple products flocked to the online store. As a result, the store reached the top in Google Trends as soon as the day started.
Until late in the evening, Apple's online store continued to reach a large number of customers as expected by the company. A person close to the store said, “The response from potential buyers has been overwhelming. So far, the number of people visiting this store has been more than our estimate. But Apple India refused to give the number of customers reached on the online store. He said that it is too early to say anything about this.
However, how excited Indians were from the beginning of the store, it is evident from the search engine statistics of Google. At midnight on Tuesday, words like 'Apple India' and 'Apple Online Store India' to 'Unidase' and 'Apple ID' started rising above the trend chart of Google. By 5 pm today, all the topics related to Apple had reached the top in Google Trends.
Apple's fans had started searching on the internet on Tuesday evening about the store's opening and the products available on it. Online search for partner website Unidase offering discounts to students also increased by 1450 percent.
Residents of Chandigarh were particularly curious about the Apple Store. Despite being less populated than the big metros, Chandigarh was more adventurous about apple products. It was followed by Delhi, Puducherry, Haryana, and Sikkim.
However, the prices recorded at this Apple store are higher than the prices listed on Amazon and Flipkart. Navdender Singh, research director at IDC, says that Apple products are still being found cheap on e-commerce sites. Unlike Amazon and Flipkart, Apple's online stores are selling products at a maximum retail price. Yes, he is offering cashback as well.
According to sources, the Apple team, which is preparing an online strategy for India, is preparing new offers related to prices and during the festive season i.e. in the second fortnight of October, these offers will be covered.
TechArc's top analyst Faisal Kavusa says that Apple remains attractive to the brand and that starting an online store in India was a must. "Apple will bring new offers to Indian customers before the festivals," says Faisal.
With the introduction of this online store, the Indian market for Apple has also come on par with developed markets like America and the UK. This shows how much Apple is paying attention to India. It is believed that the Indian market will grow rapidly in the next decade and this store will form a strong foundation for the company.
