Chennai, March 20 (IANS) The BJP has set up a six-party alliance to contest the 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and expects to win at least 25, party president Rajnath Singh said Thursday.
The Bharatiya Janata Party will contest 8 seats, Vijayakant's DMDK 14, the PMK 8, Vaiko's MDMK 7, IJK 1 and KMDK 1.
"This is a formidable alliance and we expect 25 seats in Tamil Nadu," Rajnath Singh said.
On the Lok Sabha ticket to party leader L.K. Advani, the BJP president said the party has given a choice to the veteran leader on whether to contest from Gandhinagar or Bhopal.
