Dr. Randeep Guleria further stated that due to uncontrolled diabetes and being infected with corona, the risk of mucormycosis may increase.
'Increased risk due to overuse of steroids
Apart from this, he also said that under this second wave of the corona the use of steroids became very high. He further stated that the given steroids can cause other infections even if the mild and incipient disease is not indicated. If people are given high doses of steroids after the symptoms are not present, they may have an increased risk of high blood sugar levels and mucormycosis.
