Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's budget speech started in Parliament at 11 am on Monday, which lasted from 12 noon to 50 minutes. In this way, she spoke for less than two hours. Nirmala Sitharaman spoke for two hours and 17 minutes in the budget presented for the financial year 2019-20. Looking at the budget speeches by words, the speech given by Finance Minister Manmohan Singh in 1991 was 18,700 words. Indira Gandhi gave the shortest speech as Finance Minister. Morarji Desai's speeches averaged 10,000 words, while YB Chavan's speeches averaged 9,300 words.
