The CBI on Tuesday raided the house of Karti, son of former Union Minister P Chidambaram. These raids have been done at his residence in Sivagangai and Chennai, apart from Delhi and Mumbai. This raid by CBI has been done in a money laundering case. Please tell me that many cases are going on against Chidambaram's son. These include the case of INX Media getting FIPB (Foreign Investment Promotion Board) clearance, which is related to about 305 crore foreign funds. This is the case when Chidambaram was the Finance Minister. Because of these, this raid has been done.
Sources say that the investigating agency has registered a new case against Karti which is related to money received from abroad. This money was received during the year 2010-14.
