Southwest Monsoon has knocked over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is raining in the surrounding areas due to the strengthening of southwesterly wind in the lower levels of the troposphere. Monsoon is likely to reach Kerala by May 27. At the same time, pre-monsoon rains are expected in Kerala, Karnataka, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya in the next four-five days. On the other hand, there is no possibility of a heatwave for the next four days with relief from the scorching heat in many areas of North India including Delhi from Tuesday.

 

It will be less hot than today

 

According to news agency ANI, RK Jenamani, senior scientist of the Indian Meteorological Department said that Delhi and other north Indian states will not experience heatwave for the next four days from Tuesday. It was the hottest summer on Sunday, but now the peak is over. On Monday, a drop of three to four degrees has been recorded in the temperature in Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh. He said that from May 17, there will be no heatwave in any area for the next four days.

 

Rain on the mountains, the mercury dropped on the plains

 

According to the Meteorological Department, the rain brought some relief in the hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu, and Kashmir on Monday, but people in their plains remained troubled by the heat. However, in most states of North India, people got partial respite as the mercury fell slightly lower than Sunday.

 

Chance of rain and hailstorm in Himachal for two days

 

There is a possibility of rain and hailstorm in Himachal Pradesh for the next two days. The Meteorological Department issued an alert for thunderstorms and hailstorms accompanied by lightning at a speed of 30 km in the rest of the districts of the state except Lahaul Spiti on Tuesday. Snowfall has been predicted on the higher peaks. On May 18, there is a possibility of rain at some places in the state. On Monday, rain and hail had brought relief from the heat.

 

Heavy rain with thunderstorms likely in Uttarakhand

 

The weather may change in Uttarakhand today. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Center, there may be hailstorms with thunder at some places in the state. There is a possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning. The Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert warning of thunderstorms at a speed of 60 kmph. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of getting more relief from the scorching heat on Tuesday, there is a possibility of rain in many districts of Punjab.
