CBSE has released the guidelines regarding compartment exam eligibility and results for the students appearing in the term-based board examinations of classes 10th and 12th. Under this, CBSE has told which students will be able to appear in the compartment examination and which are not. Along with this, the board told which students will necessarily be kept in the repeat category and which will not. CBSE had given information about these in a webinar organized on Monday.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had recently announced in its revised guideline that students who will not appear in both the Term-1 and Term-2 examinations will not be allowed to appear in the compartment examination this year and will not be allowed to appear in the respective examination. The class has to be repeated i.e. the concerned students will have to repeat in the same class.

In a live webinar ahead of the CBSE Term-2 exam, the Board's controller of exams Sanyam Bhardwaj said that students who were absent in the Term-1 exam and didn't appear in the Term-2 exam were not allowed to take the compartment exam. Will go Because all the compartment exams of class 12th are conducted on a single day. Whereas for class 10th, the compartment exam is conducted in a time duration of seven days.

These students will remain in the Essential Repeat category

In addition, as a relaxation amid Covid, the board had last year provided a provision for appearing in compartment examination for the required repeat category candidates. Students who fail to appear or obtain minimum passing marks in three or more subjects under the directions from the Board are placed in the Essential Repeat category. However, those who will appear for either of the two-term examinations will get a grade based on their performance in either of them.

An alternative grading scheme will be released in due course

Also, if a student is unable to appear for all the exams due to COVID-19 and appears for only three to four papers out of them, they can get the result under a special scheme. Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj informed that an alternate grading scheme for such students will be decided by the board in due course and will be in favor of the students.

Results of these categories of students will be released
