India-US Education: Indian team is looking for opportunities for educational partnership in America, former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu is leading

An Indian delegation has visited the US after the recently concluded 4th 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue between India and the US in Washington. The delegation will explore opportunities and options for new educational partnerships between India and the US. The Indian delegation is being led by Rajya Sabha MP and former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu.

 

The visit comes weeks after the conclusion of the 2+2 talks between the Defense and Foreign Ministers of India and the US. Both the countries have agreed to further strengthen cooperation in the field of education and skill development through cooperation during the two plus two ministerial talks. In addition, both countries have agreed to build public engagement through the efforts of students and scholars.

There will be a partnership for semester and faculty exchange, research, dual degree

 

The delegation, led by former Union Minister Prabhu, has visited several US cities including Boston, New York, Chicago, Washington DC, Houston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. During this, he also held meetings with business leaders and academicians. Along with this, shared discussions were held on the upliftment of students and increasing cooperation in the field of education. The delegation has taken the initiative to launch academic partnerships with US universities for semester exchanges, faculty exchanges, research projects, dual degrees, etc.

 

Education and skill development working group will be established

 

Prabhu, during his various interactions with university officials, academia, and business leaders, said that after coming to the US, many people have become successful because of the opportunities that come with them. We have to provide equal opportunities and the environment in India also and for this the emphasis is on systemic reforms. Explain that during the two-plus-two talks, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a joint statement announced the setting up of the India-US Education and Skill Development Working Group.
