Warning issued regarding avalanche

A warning has been issued regarding avalanches in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh, and Bageshwar of Uttarakhand. Chamoli district is most at risk in this. Let us tell you that on Friday, a massive avalanche occurred due to the breaking of the glacier in Mana, Uttarakhand. Due to this, the BRO camp has been damaged.

Due to rain and snowfall in the border district, traffic has come to a halt beyond Ganganani on the Gangotri Highway. There has been an avalanche in Dabrani on the highway between Ganganani and Gangotri.

At the same time, helicopter service has also been started. So far 47 people buried in the snow have been rescued. 8 people are still being searched.

Among the workers who were evacuated yesterday, the officials have been directed to airlift the seriously injured to send them to higher centers.

Due to snowfall, more than 24 villages in the Ganga and Yamuna valleys have been covered with snow. Due to rain and snowfall, electricity supply has been disrupted in a total of 48 villages in both valleys. Three feet of snow has accumulated in Yamunotri Dham due to continuous snowfall. Four feet of snowfall is expected in Gangotri Dham.

 

Life has been badly affected due to continuous rain in all tehsil areas including the district headquarters. Due to snowfall, the movement of normal vehicles beyond Sukki Top on Gangotri Highway was halted last Thursday. On Friday, due to snowfall on the highway, movement beyond Gangani came to a halt.

The SSI said that given the weather conditions, constant contact is being maintained with the surrounding police station areas.
