Chhath Puja 2021: Kejriwal wrote a letter to the Lieutenant Governor – Corona situation is better in Delhi, permission should be given for worship

Confusion continues in the capital Delhi regarding the Mahaparv Chhath. The Delhi government has already written a letter to the central government to issue guidelines in this regard. Meanwhile, on Thursday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also wrote a letter to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal in this regard. He wrote that the situation of Corona in Delhi is better now. I think keeping in mind the Covid protocol, we should be allowed to organize Chhath Puja in Delhi.

Bharatiya Janata Party took to the streets

Politics has heated up in Delhi regarding Chhath Puja. Because of Corona, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has banned Chhath Puja in public places, reservoirs, and river banks in Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party has come out on the streets against this decision of the Delhi government.

Protest outside Arvind Kejriwal's house

Delhi BJP leaders and workers protested outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence on Tuesday to protest against the ban on Chhath Puja. During this, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari was injured and was taken to Safdarjung Hospital.

Impact of Purvanchal voters on 27 seats

Politics over Chhath Puja is not a new thing in Delhi. There are about 40 lakh Purvanchali (UP-Bihar) voters in Delhi who perform Chhath Puja. There is a competition between Congress, BJP, and Aam Aadmi Party to cultivate them. There are 27 assembly seats in Delhi where the people of Purvanchal are in a position to influence the election results. For this reason, political parties have also been betting fiercely on Purvanchal voters.
