Three Chinese female professors were killed in an attack by female fidayeen at Pakistan's Karachi University on Tuesday. After this China took a tough stand. The newly-minted Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif rushed to the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad in the middle of the night and kept listening to things like a criminal with folded hands.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack, which has carried out similar attacks in the past and in which 15 Chinese civilians have been killed. On one side, there is China and Pakistani army and on the other side, there is BLA.
Many countries have supported the demands of Balochis, but there are question marks on their methods. Let us try to understand this controversy.
Balochistan and BLA
The citizens of Balochistan do not consider themselves a part of Pakistan from 1947 to 1948. Despite this, somehow he remained present on the map of Pakistan. They continued to be treated as second-class citizens. Like Punjab, Sindh, or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, they never got their due rights. Time passed and with it, the anger also increased.
In 1975, the then Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto arrived in Quetta for a rally. A young man named Majeed Lango died after a hand grenade exploded here. It was claimed that he had come to kill Bhutto. The foundation of BLA was laid from here. Majeed's younger brother's name was also Majeed. He was killed in 2011 by the Pakistani army. After this, a separate squad of BLA was formed and it was named Majeed Brigade.
How different are BLA and Majeed Brigade?
Balochistan has a strong connection with Iran. Just as the Pakistani Taliban consider themselves more Afghan than Pakistani, most people of Balochistan are closer to Iran. Iran has also been helping them secretly.
One more thing is important to understand here. That is, the initial struggle of BLA was limited to peaceful movement in the mountains. When Majeed Brigade was formed, the matter turned violent. According to an estimate, around 1200 Pakistani soldiers have been killed in the attacks of the Majeed Brigade so far, although the army never gave the exact number.

In recent times, the Pakistani army has proved ineffective in front of the Majeed Brigade and BLA. He had to suffer tremendous losses at every level. The strength of the Majeed Brigade has increased for two reasons. First- Baloch citizens are present in other countries and funding comes from Iran. Second- Its fighters are very educated and hi-tech. Recently, 22 soldiers became the victim of the Majeed Brigade in the attack on the Army Depot. Investigation revealed that the entire movement of the Pakistani army was being tracked by the technical unit of the Majeed Brigade.
Why Majeed Brigade is the enemy of China
Now the question arises why is the BLA and especially the Majeed Brigade behind China and the Chinese? A very short answer to this question is that China snatched the livelihood of the Baloch, and left them to starve. understand this too.
The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) of about $ 60 billion is the biggest reason for the displeasure of the citizens of Balochistan. Under the guise of this, the Pakistani army forcibly snatched their land from the Baloch. There, fish packaging and all other small units were installed.
The special thing is that Baloch was not kept in these units. In their place, China gave jobs and contracts to its people.
Under the guise of CPEC, Pakistani politicians, bureaucrats, and army generals ate commissions worth crores of rupees. The names of former Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and Asim Salim Bajwa are also included in this list. However, who would dare to speak before the army? Hence, the matter was suppressed.
Chinese companies started fishing through automatic and hi-tech trawlers with thousands of tons. The Balochs used to do this work in old and small boats. The Pakistani army and China banned the fishing of Baloch in the sea.
The situation worsened when the Imran government 2018 awarded a contract to a big Chinese company for mining gold and copper in the area. For this, the houses of thousands of Balochis were destroyed.
This was the source of livelihood for the Baloch, which has ended. China became the biggest reason for the joining of the educated people with the Majid Brigade. Sherry Bloch Mpil was the killer of the suicide bombers at Karachi University. Her husband is a doctor and her brother is an engineer.
The special unit also failed
In 2020, a special unit was formed to protect the Chinese. Most of them are military people. Apart from this, Rangers and Special Protection Unit employees were also posted here. The Intelligence Unit has also been entrusted with the security of these Chinese.
According to the statement given in the Parliament of Pakistan, Pakistan has deployed 11 thousand 225 security personnel to protect 3355 Chinese citizens present in Balochistan. Even after this, the attacks on them continue unabated.
