Since the beginning of the year, 6,259 cases of measles have been registered here, of which 132 people have died. Pointe-Noire, the country's financial capital, has become the epicenter of this epidemic.
Congolese Health Minister Gilbert Mokoki said Pointe-Noire has recorded 5,488 cases of measles and 112 deaths since the beginning of this year until April 24. Most of them died due to delayed admission to the hospital.
WHO issued a warning last year?
The government has also started taking precautionary measures to reduce the increasing outbreak of the epidemic. Motoki says that we have started many awareness programs regarding the early symptoms of this disease. Our government is emphasizing maximum vaccination of the people.
In April last year itself, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned that the measles vaccination program has been halted in many African countries due to corona. Due to this, this epidemic can cause massive damage in the coming time.

A few days ago, two people died of the Ebola virus in Congo. After which 230 people who came in contact with the dead have been identified. Because of the danger, the government has once again started the Ebola vaccination program with the help of the WHO.

Last month, the Congo was in the news due to a train accident. At least 60 people were killed and more than 100 were injured when a train capsized in Lualaba state. According to media reports, many passengers were traveling on the train illegally.
