New Delhi, Feb 15 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee tweeted his congratulations to the Indian cricket team for its victory over Pakistan in a World Cup pool match in Adelaide.

"Congratulations Indian Team on victory in ICC World Cup's first match; wish you continued success in coming matches," the president wrote on his Twitter account.

India defeated Pakistan by 76 runs in their first Pool B match of the World Cup at the Adelaide Oval Sunday. Chasing India's 300/7, Pakistan were bowled out for 224.
