Corona in Punjab: Night curfew extended till April 30 with new restrictions, government worried about non-stop pace of infection

Night curfew has been imposed in the entire Punjab from 9 am to 5 am amidst increasing cases of corona. Earlier, a night curfew was imposed in 12 districts till 10 April. Now its duration has been extended till April 30 by applying it to the entire state. Because of the increasing pace of infection, the government has taken this decision.

 

Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, while reviewing the current situation of Corona in the state, has directed to take strict measures. Political rallies etc. have also been banned in the state. A case will be registered under the epidemic act against those who violate the rules. The Chief Minister has ordered DGP Dinkar Gupta to strictly enforce the night curfew in the state.

 

 

It is mandatory for all employees in government offices to wear masks. The number of 50 persons in indoor programs for weddings and other domestic ceremonies and 100 persons in outdoor programs has been limited.

 

The government imposed these restrictions

 

New instructions issued for shops located within malls

 

No more than 10 people will get admission to any shop at a time.

 

No more than 200 people will be allowed entry to the entire mall at one time.

 

A case will be filed against those conducting public meetings under DMA and the Epidemic Act

 

Case will be filed against those who provide canopy and tent chairs for public meetings

 

The place where the program or public meeting will be held will also be sealed for 3 months.

 

Public dealing in all government offices closed till 30 April

 

Ban on organizing social cultural and sports programs in the state till April 30

 

50 percent setting rules in theaters will continue

 

All educational institutions including schools and colleges closed till 30 April

 

Medical and nursing colleges exempt, educational institutions will not close it

In Punjab, 62 people died of the infection on Tuesday. There have been 2924 new cases of infection. The condition of 29 infected people admitted to various hospitals remains critical, who have been put on ventilators as a precautionary measure. So far 7216 people have died due to infection in Punjab.

 

Earlier on Tuesday, the Chandigarh administration also issued an order to impose a night curfew because of the increasing cases of corona in the city. There will be a ban on the exit of people from 10 am to 5 am in Chandigarh. However, people engaged in compulsory services will get exemption from this. The administration is also seriously considering a weekend lockdown.
