Corona in the country: 3.06 lakh new cases in 24 hours; Sharad Pawar infected, despite record cases, Karnataka lifts weekend curfew

More than 3 lakh new corona cases have come in the country for the fifth consecutive day. According to the Ministry of Health, 3 lakh 6 thousand 64 new corona infections were found on Sunday. During this 2.43 lakh people were cured, while 439 people have died. However, there has been a decrease of 27,469 in new infected compared to the previous day, that is, 8.23% fewer cases have been registered.

 

On Saturday, 3 lakh 33 thousand 533 new corona infections were found. During this 2.59 lakh people were cured, while 525 people have died. A day before this, on Friday, 3.37 lakh infected people were found and 488 people died. On Thursday, 3.47 lakh people were found infected and 703 people died. Talking about active cases, at present there are a total of 22.43 lakh active cases in the country. This figure of active cases has crossed 22 lakhs for the first time in the third wave.

 

77% more children under 10 years of age infected in Karnataka compared to the last 6 months

Meanwhile, 12,800 children below 10 years of age have been found infected this month in Karnataka, which has recorded the highest number of new cases (50,210) in the country. Last month in December 376 children were found infected, while in November this figure was even less (332). The total number of children infected in January is more than the total number in the 6 months between July and December 2021. A total of 7,246 children below the age of 10 years were infected in these 6 months. The number of children infected in January is 77% more than the total number in the last 6 months.

 

At the same time, it has been decided to end the weekend curfew in Karnataka. State CM Vasavaraj Bommai said on Monday that after taking stock of the corona situation in the state, we have decided to lift the weekend curfew. He said that if needed, we will give relaxation in Covid rules even further.

6,253 new Covid cases were reported in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The total number of active cases in the Union Territory is 42,866.

 

Himachal Pradesh reported 755 new COVID cases on Sunday, recorded 1,227 recoveries and 2 deaths. The number of active cases is 16,821.

 

In Andhra Pradesh, 14,440 new Covid cases were found in the last 24 hours. 3,969 recoveries and 4 deaths were recorded. Active cases are 83,610.

 

A total of 875 people are Covid positive so far in the Parliament House Complex. So far 271 people have been found infected in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.

It has been said that the cases of corona will reach the peak by February 6 i.e. in 2 weeks. According to the study, the R-value, which tells the infection rate, has come down from 2.2 to 1.57 between January 14 and 21. In such a situation, the third wave is expected to reach its peak in the next 15 days.

1. Karnataka: Daily Case Records Broken

50,210 new cases of corona have been found in Karnataka on Sunday. This is the highest number of cases found in a day in any wave of Corona. Earlier in the second wave, on 5 May 2021, 50,112 cases were found in Karnataka. In the last 24 hours in the state, 22,842 patients have defeated Corona, while 19 corona infected have died. At present, the number of patients being treated here is 3.57 lakh, the positivity rate is 22.78%. 42,470 new infections were found here on Saturday, while 35,140 people were cured and 26 people died. That is, there has been an increase of 7,740 in new cases.

 

2. Kerala: Positivity rate up to 44.89%

On Sunday, 45,449 new infections have been found in the state, while 27,961 patients have were cured and 38 people have died. Earlier on Saturday, 45,136 new infections were found, 21,324 patients were cured and 70 people died. So far, a total of 56.43 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Out of these 53.25 lakh, people have been cured, while 51,816 people died. The number of active cases here is 2,64,638. The positivity rate is 44.89%. A day before this, the positivity rate was 44.81%.

 

3. Maharashtra: Decrease in new cases

In Maharashtra, 40,805 new cases of Covid-19 were found in the last 24 hours. 44 people died and 27,377 patients were cured. New cases are 5,588 less as compared to Saturday. On Saturday, 46,393 cases were reported in the state. 30,795 patients were cured and 48 people died. The total active cases in the state now stand at 2.93 lakh. So far, a total of 75.07 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Of these, 70.67 lakh people have been cured, while 1,42,115 people died. The positivity rate is 20.90%. A day before this, the positivity rate on Saturday was 20.77%. Wherein 2,550 new cases were registered in Mumbai. Active cases are 19,808.

 

4. Tamil Nadu: The pace of new cases stabilizes

30,580 new cases have been reported in the state within 24 hours. At the same time, 24,283 people have been cured of the disease and 40 people have lost their lives. Earlier on Saturday, 30,744 new cases were reported here. 23,372 people were cured and 33 people lost their lives. So far, a total of 31.33 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 28.95 lakh people have been cured, while 37,218 people have died. The total active cases here are 2,00,954 and the positivity rate is 19.39%.

 

5. Gujarat: New cases decreased compared to the previous day

16,617 new cases were reported here on Sunday, while 11,636 patients were cured and 19 people died. On Saturday, 23,150 new cases were reported in the state, while 10,103 patients were cured and 15 people died. So far, more than 10.62 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 9.17 lakh people have been cured. The total active cases here are 1,34,837.

1. Andhra Pradesh: Sharp rise in daily cases

On Sunday, 14,440 new cases were reported here, while 3,969 people were cured and 4 people died. On Saturday, 12,926 infected people were found here, while 3,913 people were cured and 6 people died. So far, 21.80 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 20.082 lakh people have been cured, while 14542 people have died. There are 83,610 active cases here. The positivity rate is 30.95%.

 

2. Rajasthan: The number of infected decreased

On Sunday, 14,112 new cases were reported here, while 9,884 people were cured and 19 people died. On Saturday, 14,829 new cases were reported in the state, while 10,366 people were cured and 17 people died. So far, 11.29 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 10.27 lakh people have been cured, while 9,095 people died. There are 93,442 active cases here. The positivity rate is 23.24. A day before this, the positivity rate was 22.07%.

 

3. Uttar Pradesh: New cases decreased compared to the previous day

In the last 24 hours, 13,654 people were found infected here. 16,521 people have recovered and 18 deaths have been recorded. On Saturday, 16,549 people were found infected in the state. 15,757 people were cured and 16 deaths were recorded. That is, the new cases have decreased by 2895, so far 19.46 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 18.30 lakh people have been cured, while 23,056 people died. 93,757 patients are currently undergoing treatment in the state.

 

4. Madhya Pradesh: The pace of new cases stabilizes

Here 11,253 new cases were reported in 24 hours and 5,497 people were cured. During this 8 patients have died. A day before this, 11,274 new cases were reported on Saturday and 4,966 people were cured. During this, 5 patients had died. So far, more than 8.94 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 8.16 lakh people have been cured, while 10,570 people died. 67136 patients are currently undergoing treatment. The positivity rate is 13.50%. Earlier it was 13.47%.

 

According to the Health Bulletin that came on Sunday night, 4 people have died of corona in Indore. At the same time, 2665 new cases have been found. 2,128 new cases have been found in Bhopal and one person has died of the corona.

 

In the third wave of the corona, doctors are also getting infected in large numbers. So far 112 junior doctors out of 220 have become corona positive in Jairogya Chikitsalaya, the largest hospital in Gwalior. The workload on the junior doctors, who are already facing the burden of work due to the non-availability of new batch of junior doctors, has increased with more than half of their colleagues getting infected.

 

5. Delhi: Positivity rate down to 13.32%

On Sunday, 9,197 new cases were registered in Delhi and 34 people died. 13,510 people have also been cured. A day before this, 11,486 daily cases were registered on Saturday and 45 people died. This death toll was the highest in a day in the third wave. So far, more than 17.91 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 17.11 lakh have been cured while 25,620 have died. The positivity rate here is 13.32% which was 17.8% a day earlier.

 

6. Haryana: Infection rate stable

In the last 24 hours, 7,516 people were found infected in the state. 7,683 people have been cured and 12 people have died. On Saturday, 8,753 people were found infected here. 12,826 people were cured and 11 people died. So far, more than 90.88 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 8.40 lakh people have been cured, while 10,177 people died. A total of 57,753 are currently undergoing treatment. The positivity rate is 20.45% which was 21.55% a day ago.

 

7. West Bengal: Positivity rate reduced to 9.53%

6,980 new cases have been found in West Bengal on Sunday. During this, 20,418 patients were cured, while 36 people have died. On Saturday, 9,191 new cases were found here. During this, 20,313 patients were cured, while 37 people died. A total of 19.65 lakh cases have been found in the state so far, while 18.34 lakh people have recovered. A total of 20,418 people have died. Active cases are 110183. Here the positivity rate has come down from 11.13% to 9.53%.

 

8. Punjab: Positivity rate reduced

In Punjab, 5,598 infected have been found on the last day and 30 people have died. A day before this, 7,625 infected were found on Saturday and 35 died. So far 7.13 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 6.49 lakh people have been cured, while 16,978 people died. Active cases are 46,472. The positivity rate has come down from 16.65% to 13.28%.

 

9. Chhattisgarh: Testing decreased, new cases decreased

On the previous day, 3,841 people were found infected here. 3,021 patients were cured and 11 patients died. On Saturday, 5,661 people were found infected in the state. 5,225 patients were cured and 11 patients died. That is, new cases have decreased by 1,820. However, testing has also decreased in the state, due to which there has been a decrease in new cases. So far, more than 10.95 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 10.49 lakh people have been cured, while 13,727 people died. A total of 31,990 patients are currently undergoing treatment. The positivity rate has increased from 11.76% to 14.03%.

 

10. Bihar: The pace of new cases stabilizes

On Sunday, 2,768 people were found infected here. 4,496 people were cured and 2 died. On Saturday, 3,003 people were found infected in the state. 6,190 people were cured and 10 had died. So far, more than 8.11 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 7.81 lakh people have been cured, while 12,185 people died. A total of 17,848 patients are currently undergoing treatment.
