Corona in the country: 3.47 lakh new cases and 701 lost their lives, deaths doubled in 4 days; Weekend curfew will continue in Delhi

On Thursday, 3 lakh 47 thousand 254 new corona infections were found in the country. During this 2.51 lakh people were cured, while 701 people have died. At the same time, there has been an increase of 29,722 new infections compared to the previous day. A day before this, on Wednesday, 3.17 lakh people were found infected and 491 people died.

 

The number of daily deaths in the country is increasing continuously for the last 4 days. On January 17, there were 310 deaths in the country. At the same time, 4 days later, on Thursday, this number increased to more than 2 times (701). These deaths are the highest in the third wave. The maximum deaths occurred in Delhi (43), Tamil Nadu (39), West Bengal (37), Maharashtra (37). The death toll has crossed 700 after 8 months. In the second wave, 724 deaths were recorded on May 11 during the decline of cases.

 

The weekend curfew will continue in Delhi

The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has turned down Arvind Kejriwal's proposal to lift the weekend curfew. He said that offices can be opened with 50% capacity but it will be good if the rest of the lockdown remains in place. A decision in this regard will be taken when the situation of corona in the state improves.

 

Active cases in the country 20.12 lakh

At present, there are 20.12 lakh active cases in the country. In the third wave, active cases have crossed 20 lakhs for the first time. The total active cases touched 1 lakh on 31 December and 5 lakh on 8 January. In this sense, the total active cases have increased 20 times in just 21 days.

The government has issued a new corona guideline for children on Thursday. It recommends not to use antiviral or monoclonal antibodies when infected with children under 18 years of age.

 

Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said during the press conference on Thursday that UP, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Bengal, Gujarat, Odisha, Delhi, and Rajasthan have the highest number of active cases. ICMR DG Dr. Balram Bhargava said that vaccination has proved beneficial for India. Due to the vaccine, the number of deaths in the third wave has decreased significantly. We are not seeing more serious infections and more deaths because of more vaccinations.

1. Karnataka: New cases increased by about 7 thousand compared to the previous day

On Thursday, 47,754 people were found infected here, while 22,143 people were cured and 29 people died. Earlier on Wednesday, 40,499 people were found infected. That is, cases have increased by 17% in a day. A total of 33.76 lakh people have come under the grip of infection here. Of these, 30.45 lakh people have been cured, while 38,515 people died. The number of active cases is 2,93,231 and the positivity rate is 18.49%. The positivity rate on Wednesday was 18.11%.

 

2. Kerala: Positivity rate rises to 40.21%

On Thursday, 46,387 new infected have been found in the state, while 15,388 patients have been cured and 32 people have died. On Wednesday, 34,119 cases were reported here and 49 people died. So far, a total of 55.10 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Of these, 52.95 lakh people have been cured, while 51,501 people died. The number of active cases here is 1,99,041. The positivity rate has increased to 40.21% on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday, the positivity rate was 37.13%.

 

3. Maharashtra: About 46 thousand new cases were found in 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 45,932 new cases have been reported in Maharashtra, which is 2,235 more than Wednesday. A day before this, 43,697 cases were reported in the state on Wednesday, that is, 5% of cases have increased in a day. At the same time, 52,025 patients were cured on Thursday and 37 people died. The total active cases in the state now stand at 2,58,569.

 

4. Tamil Nadu: The pace of infection stabilizes

During 24 hours, 28,561 cases have been reported here. At the same time, 19,978 people have been cured of the disease and 39 people have lost their lives. Earlier on Wednesday, 26,981 cases were registered here and 35 people died. So far, a total of 30.42 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 28.26 lakh people have been cured, while 37,112 patients died. Here the total active cases are 1,79,205 and the positivity rate is 18.44%. The day before this, the positivity rate was 17.91%.

 

5. Gujarat: Active cases cross 1 lakh

On Thursday, 24,485 new cases were reported in the state, while 10,310 patients were cured and 13 people died. So far, more than 10.01 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 8.86 lakh people have been cured. On Wednesday, 20,966 new cases were registered in the state and 12 people died. The total active cases here are 1,04888. The positivity rate is 17.62%, earlier on Wednesday the positivity rate was recorded at 15.12%.

1. Delhi: Decline in Daily Cases, Increase in Deaths

Delhi saw a decline in daily cases on Thursday. In the last 24 hours, 12,306 new infections have been found in Delhi and 43 deaths have been registered. A day earlier on Wednesday, 13,785 new Covid cases were reported and 35 deaths were recorded. Thursday's figure stood at 12,306. The positivity rate was recorded at 21.48%. Active cases in the capital have come down to 68,730. Earlier on Wednesday, there were 75,282 active cases.

 

On Thursday, the death toll of 43 from Corona in Delhi is the highest after the second wave, ie June 10. Last year on June 10, 44 people had lost their lives in Delhi. However, a decrease of 11% has been registered in the daily cases.

 

2. Uttar Pradesh: New cases increased by 4% compared to the previous day

In the last 24 hours, 18,429 people were found infected here. 19,328 people have recovered and 10 deaths have been recorded in the state. On Wednesday, 17,662 people were found infected here and 12 deaths were recorded. So far, more than 19 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 17.80 lakh people have been cured, while 23,000 people died. 97,329 patients are currently undergoing treatment in the state.

 

3. West Bengal: 37 deaths in a day

On Thursday, 10,959 new cases have been found in West Bengal. During this, 17,815 patients have been cured, while 37 people have died. On Wednesday, 11,447 new cases were found here and 38 people died. The positivity rate here is 16.27%. A total of 19.39 lakh cases have been found in the state so far, while 17.74 lakh people have recovered. A total of 20,230 people have died. Active cases are 1,44,809.

 

4. Rajasthan: So far more than 10 lakh people have been infected

On Thursday, 14,079 infected were found here, while 10,528 people were cured and 13 people died. On Wednesday, 13,398 were found infected in the state and 12 people had died. So far, more than 10.84 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 9.96 lakh people have been cured, while 9,044 people have died. There are 78,099 active cases here. The positivity rate is 18.41%.

 

5. Haryana: Infection rate stable

In the last 24 hours, 9,558 people were found infected in the state. 7,276 people have been cured and 6 people have died. On Wednesday, 8,847 people were found infected here and 8 people died. So far, more than 8.82 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 8.11 lakh people have been cured, while 10,142 people died. A total of 61,620 are currently undergoing treatment. The positivity rate is 20.1%.

 

6. Madhya Pradesh: 31% increase in new cases in a day; 2838 new cases found in Indore

There were 9,385 new cases in 24 hours and 3,616 people were cured. During this time 1 patient has died. A day before this, 7,597 people were found infected on Wednesday, that is, an increase of about two thousand cases in a day. So far, more than 8.62 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 8.01 lakh people have been cured, while 10,553 people died. 49,741 patients are currently undergoing treatment. The positivity rate is 11.72%. 2838 new infections have been found in Indore. At the same time, reports of 572 people have been found positive in Gwalior.

 

7. Punjab: rising death toll

In Punjab, 7,862 infected have been found on the last day and 36 have died. On Wednesday, 7,717 infected were found here and 29 died. So far, more than 6.92 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 6.28 lakh people have been cured, while 16,882 people died. Active cases are 47,400 and the positivity rate is 18.75%.

 

8. Chhattisgarh: Positivity rate 10.78%

Last day, 5,649 people were found infected here. In the state, 5,919 patients were cured and 15 patients died. Here on Wednesday 5,625 infected were found and 9 died. So far, more than 10.81 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 10.35 lakh people have been cured, while 13,697 people died. A total of 31,736 are currently undergoing treatment. The positivity rate is 10.78%.

 

9. Bihar: New cases decreased by about 14%

On Thursday, 3475 people were found infected here. 7,277 people were cured and 6 died. At the same time, on Wednesday, 4,063 people were infected and 11 died. So far, more than 8.02 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 7.63 lakh people have been cured, while 12,162 people died. A total of 26,673 patients are currently undergoing treatment.

 

10. Jharkhand: The number of people recovering in a day is more than the infected

Here 2,449 people were found infected in 24 hours. In the state, 4,283 people were cured and 10 patients died. On Wednesday, 2,617 people were found infected here. At the same time, 3,769 people were cured and 12 patients had died. So far, more than 4.15 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 3.84 lakh people have been cured, while 5,235 people died. A total of 25,578 patients are currently undergoing treatment.

 

For the last 6 days in Jharkhand, more patients are getting cured than getting new corona patients. Experts believe that the peak has come in Jharkhand.
