Corona is now scaring the country. The positivity rate has more than doubled in the last 14 days. After just 168 days, the positivity rate has crossed 7%. The Union Health Ministry gave this information on Monday. According to WHO, a more than 5% positivity rate is a matter of concern. In the last 24 hours, 14,830 new cases were reported in the country. 18,159 patients were cured, while 36 infected people died. Active cases are 1,47,512.

On the other hand, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has become Corona positive. He was having a fever for a few days. Now his report has come positive.

More than 7 crores got a booster dose

A total of 7.37 crore people in the country have been given booster doses. On July 13, the government announced the installation of boosters for 18+ people free of cost. After this, in just 13 days (between July 13 and 25), 2 crore people have got precaution doses. Between July 1 and 12, only 53 lakh people had got a booster dose, that is, the speed has increased up to 4 times.

Yet we are still behind, as it has been 6 months since 69 crore people got the second dose, but about 90% of them have not got a booster yet. A maximum of 2.45 crore booster doses have been given to those above 60.

If we look at the data of July 24, the infection rate in 12 states has reached 10%, while in Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland, the infection rate has reached above 20%. At the same time, it is a matter of relief in 12 other states, where the infection rate is less than 5%. The positivity rate on July 11 was 3.2%.

Only 2 doses were ineffective in 6 months, with 52% protection from booster

The immunity obtained by applying both doses of the vaccine starts decreasing in 4-6 months. That is, the protection against re-infection is almost over. That's why it is necessary to have a booster. Research conducted in collaboration with Qatar's Ministry of Health says that the third dose, ie booster, reduces the risk of infection by 52%.

Dr. Ram S. of Harvard Medical School. Upadhyay told in a conversation with Bhaskar that the booster dose increases immunity manifold and the risk of re-infection decreases. The immunity from chronic infection is preserved for 14 months.

New cases in Maharashtra below 1000 after two months

Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Karnataka, and Maharashtra are the five big states where the infection is not taking its name. However, after about two months in Maharashtra, there was a tremendous decline in new cases. In the last 24 hours, 785 new cases were reported in the state, and 935 patients were cured. While 6 infected died. Earlier on May 31, 711 new cases were found in Maharashtra.

At the same time, after the decrease in new cases in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu has reached the top in terms of new infections. In Tamil Nadu, in 1903 new cases came in the last 24 hours. No corona patient died.

More than 1000 cases in just three states

There are only three states in the country where more than 1000 cases have been registered. These states are Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and West Bengal. Before Monday, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Odisha were also included in this list. According to the data of the Ministry of Health, in the last 24 hours, 1700 new infections were found in Kerala, and 1094 in West Bengal. At the same time, 939 new cases were recorded in Karnataka, and 739 in Odisha.

The positivity rate in the capital Delhi maybe 8.18%, but the new cases of corona here are below 500. On Monday, 463 new cases were registered in the capital. The positivity rate of 8.18% means that only 8 or 9 people out of 100 are getting infected.

Positivity rate above 10% in 10 states

The positivity rate is above 10% in 10 states of the country. These include West Bengal, Rajasthan, Kerala, Uttarakhand, Puducherry, Sikkim, Manipur, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Meghalaya. The positivity rate is 12.65% in West Bengal, 11.11% in Rajasthan, 11.46% in Kerala, and 14.35% in Uttarakhand, Puducherry-10.06%, 21.28% in Sikkim, 11.64% in Manipur, 16.95% in Himachal Pradesh, 17.20% in Nagaland and Meghalaya recorded 14.93%.
